A MAN was racially abused before being punched to the ground by two men in an unprovoked attack.
Police have appealed for witnesses after the incident, which happened on High Street in Cowes on the Isle of Wight.
The victim and his family were driving down the road when two men punched the side of their car.
He got out of the car to confront the two men but they punched him, causing him to fall over and sustain a cut to his head.
A Hampshire Police spokesman said: “Both men are described as wearing black jackets, white tops, and had short dark hair.
“One was wearing red trousers at the other light-coloured jeans.
“Did you witness this incident? Did you see two men matching the description in the area at the time of the assault?”
The attack happened just after midnight on February 7 and anyone with information is asked to call PC Stuart D’Costa on 101 and quote reference number 44160056703.
