ROSES are red, violets are blue, and Hampshire Heritage has a Valentine’s gallery for you!
With the most romantic day of the year just around the corner, Hampshire Heritage has this week delved into the extensive Daily Echo picture archives to revisit some long-forgotten snapshots of the past as we remember bygone Valentine’s Days from the 1970s, 80s and nineties.
This Sunday will see boyfriends, girlfriends, husbands and wives profess their undying love for each other with gifts, cards and other tokens of affection, as ‘snugglebuns’ and ‘fluffybunnykins’ (or whatever pet names you may have for your beloved) go gooey at each other up and down the length and breadth of the country as romance fills the air.
And for those gentlemen still undecided on the perfect gift for their sweetheart, then may this gallery serve as a gentle reminder to call in at a service station on the way home to pick up something nice.
