EVERYBODY was Kung Fu fighting as groups celebrate the launch of a new film.

Cinemagoers visiting the Odeon in Southampton were treated to colourful displays from warriors of the UK Shaolin Temple in Southampton.

The group from the temple showed off their fighting, acrobatics and weapon skills as they marked the release of Kung Fu Panda 3. Po from the film also paid a visit and met guests.

It comes ahead of the opening of Hampshire's first Shaolin martial arts and cultural centre in Southampton where families can practice martial arts, tai chi and learn Mandarin, Chinese art and calligraphy and discover other elements of Chinese culture.

The group is also offering a months free martial arts training from Kung Fu masters including the charity's founder Shi Yan Min, a 34th generation warrior monk from the Shaolin Temple in China.

Shi Yan Min said: "We hope the show will inspire and encourage children and adults to find their 'inner dragon warrior.'

“Kung Fu is for all ages, sizes and abilities - our youngest member is five-years-old and the oldest is over 60. You don’t have to be fit, sporty, strong, or young to start – that will come with training."

The new martial arts centre will open in The Liners Industrial Estate in Pitt Road, Shirley with a bumper family event on April 9.
