A Hampshire man is to appear in court over a brutal hamemr attack on a teenage girl.
The incident left the 17-year-old with life-changing injuries.
James Hemming, 28, of Cross Street, Portsmouth, has been charged with attempted murder.
The alleged attack on the girl, who has not been named, happened at a property in Shearer Road, Portsmouth, it is alleged.
The victim suffered serious head injuries in the attack on April 11, police said.
Hemming will appear in custody at Portsmouth Magistrates' Court on Monday.
Hampshire Police earlier said the attack took place at a property with possible links to the sex trade.
Officers gave advice on personal safety to sex workers via charities and support groups after it happened.
