A woman motorcyclist has died in a city centre crash.

Today police issued an appeal to find out how the incident happend yesterday happened.

It comes after emergency services were called to  a serious accident involving a motorcycle on London Road.

The crash happened at 2.49pm in London Road, Portsmouth.

The motorcycle, which was travelling northbound, was travelling along London Road at Widley when the rider lost control and came off the motorcycle.

Despite receiving treatment at the scene from paramedics,  the female motorcyclist, from London, died.

Acting Inspector David Sanderson, said: “I am appealing for anyone who witnessed this incident to come and speak to us.

"I would also like to speak to anyone who may have seen the Suzuki Bandit motorcycle prior to the collision.”
