SALISBURY'S Andy Phillips has his eye on the prize as he sets off to compete in the 2016 Invictus Games in Florida.

He will be competing mainly in archery but also the discus and shot put.

Andy, who served in the Royal Air Force before suffering an injury during the Gulf War, took gold in the archery at the 2014 Invictus Games in London, which he says was a great boost to his confidence.

"I am really looking forward to it. It will be different because I've done it already so it won't be quite so nerve wracking."

He says this year's games are looking like they will be a lot bigger.

Andy said: "I'd love to at least get a medal. I have been shooting really well.

"I'm hoping to get a personal best or to win would be great."

This time Andy will be representing the United Kingdom team. At the London Invictus Games he was part of the British Armed Forces team.

He is bringing members of his family along to support him and says the support from the public has already been great.

"We really appreciate the support of the British public. It means a huge amount to us to have that support."

Andy trains with the Tenzone Bowman Archery Club.

The 2016 Invictus Games start on Sunday and run until May 12 at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex.
