A CYCLIST has died following a crash on the motorway.

The 52-year-old man was killed after a collision between his push bike and an Audi A4.

The incident happened at 10.40pm last night on the M3, near Fleet Services on the southbound carriageway.

The 52-year-old cyclist, a man from Aldershot, suffered serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers from the Hampshire Constabulary's Roads Policing Unit have appealed for witnesses to come forward.

Sergeant Martin Mundy said: “We know that there were several vehicles travelling along that stretch of motorway at this time of night so we are keen to speak to these motorists as they may have information which can assist our investigation.”

The Audi driver is helping with police with their enquiries.
