OFFICERS investigating the disappearance of a missing woman  are search woodland on the Dorset and Hampshire border today.

Officers have been joined by volunteers to seach for Isobel Munro in woodland in an area of Highcliffe.

Isobel, who is 41 years old, was last seen by her mother on April 11 when she left her home in Latimers Close in Christchurch in a taxi.

She was reported missing a week later.

Isobel has learning difficulties and is profoundly deaf so wears a hearing aid and lip reads.

She is described as white, five feet six inches tall and of medium build. She wears glasses and has mousey brown curly hair in the style of a bob.

Police, together with volunteers from Dorset Search and Rescue are searching a wooded area between The Globe public house on Lymington Road and Chewton Common Road.

Chief Inspector Stewart Dipple, of Dorset Police, said: “We are grateful to Dorset Search and Rescue who are assisting us with the searches today.

“We are very worried about Isobel and would urge anyone with information about her or anyone who has seen her or a woman matching the description given in the Highcliffe area to please contact Dorset Police.”
