A PENSIONER cyclist has died after being hit by a hit-and-run driver in Hampshire.

Police are appealing for information after the 70-year-old man died of head injuries he suffered in the collision, which happened on the A338 at Fordingbridge last month.

The white Transit van captured in CCTV images is believed to be the one involved in the crash and has the licence plate number BU53 FVM.

As previously reported the incident happened at about 9.20am on April 28 and the cyclist from Salisbury was rushed to Southampton General Hospital but died of his injuries.

Officers have stopped hundreds of drivers as part of their investigation and are asking anyone with information to get in touch.
