IT IS the holiday of a lifetime for most people but for one Hampshire boy it means more than anything.

Six year-old Finley Jefferis-Armour is battling a rare type of lymphoma and dreams of going to Disney World.

Now a campaign has been launched to make little Finley's dream come true.

It is hoped to raise £5,000 to make Finley's wish a reality.

Events company Fight For Lives  have organised a football match at St Mary's tomorrow and they offered to raise money at the match towards Finley's trip.

Businessmen from around the area will be taking part in the game and organisers aim to see people filling the Itchen stand.

The event begins at 2pm, children are free to enter and there is a £2 minimum donation for adults.

Finley was diagnosed with anaplastic large cell lymphoma in February this year.

Now he is undergoing his fifth phase of chemotherapy.

Mum Donna Jefferis said she felt 'heartbroken' when she learnt that her son had cancer.

Donna and dad Jay first took their son into hospital after noticing his neck had swollen.

Finley was given antibiotics to reduce the swelling but when they didn't work, the hospital began to investigate further.

She said: "Finding out your child is seriously ill is the worst thing a parent can hear.

"Taking Finley to Disney won't take away what has happened but it will help to add a little bit more light into his life at this difficult time."

There has already been £1,600 donated towards the trip and funds raised from the match will add to that amount.

Fight For Lives director Graeme Hampton, said: "We are hoping to hit our target of £5,000 through the football match, we are aware that it is a lot of money."

Since being diagnosed the family, who live in Merry Oak, have received a lot of support from staff at the Southampton General Hospital.

Finley's mum added: "Our family couldn't have wished for anything more from the doctors and nurses on the Piam Brown Ward.

"Everyone has been great at explaining everything to Finley, being in hospital for so long is very daunting to a six year old and they have really helped him understand why he is there."
