TWO people had to be rescued from the water after their speedboat broke down in the waters off Hampshire.
A father and his son had taken the 15ft craft out for the first time into the Solent but the engine broke down metres from a lifeboat station.
Bembridge lifeboat on the Isle of Wight rescued the pair who, according to a spokesman from UK Coastguard were only 500 metres away.
