MOTORISTS were advised to approach a busy road in central Southampton with caution as emergency services were called to deal with a "medical emergency".
Southampton City Council's highways team said West Quay Road eastbound, between its Harbour Parade junctions, was blocked due to an "incident".
On Twitter the team advised motorists to "approach with caution".
A South Central Ambulance Service spokesman said the incident involved a medical emergency, but was unable to provide any further  information.
The council's highways team say the inside lane has now been reopened and there are no delays anymore.
Hampshire police and the council have not provided further information about the nature of the incident.
