A CITY-CENTRE megastore was evacuated in Southampton.
Shoppers took to social media after Ikea store in West Quay Road was cleared at about 11am yesterday to ask when it would be reopened to the public.
A spokesman for the store said the store was evacuated following a "technical issue".
Customers were out of the shop for about 15 minutes before being readmitted.
A spokesman said: “The safety of our customers and co-workers is always the highest priority for IKEA.
"We can confirm that the IKEA Southampton store was evacuated today, after a technical issue.
"Following a swift evacuation, customers were invited back into the store.
"We apologise for any inconvenience caused to our customers."
