A WOMAN who died after the car she was travelling in crashed into a tree has been named by police.
Kirsty Saunders was the front seat passenger in a dark blue BMW that was being driven along the A30 at Water End near Basingstoke when it left the road and collided with a tree.
The 30-year-old, of Sinclair Drive, Basingstoke, was taken to hospital for treatment after the crash on Friday but died of her injuries on Monday morning.
The driver of the car, a 36-year-old man, remains in a critical condition in Southampton General Hospital.
Hampshire Constabulary's Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) are investigating the crash and want to hear from anyone who saw the car, which was travelling in the direction of Hook, or may have information.
They are appealing for witnesses to contact Sergeant Adrienne Jerram from the SCIU on 101, quoting reference 44160236029.
