FOLLOWING their success with four annual Christmas Spectacular shows Glad Rag Production Company return to the Regent Centre next week for their first musical celebration of summer fun.

Their first ever Summer Spectacular will run from Wednesday 27 – Saturday 30 July 2pm and 7pm for eight performances.

The show is brimming with song, dance, laughter and lavish costumes, which have been designed and created by West End costumier Sue Simmerling, who is based at New Milton. Sue’s credits include producing the costumes for last year’s Christmas sensation in the West End, Elf the Musical.

And, on the back of that success with Elf at London’s Dominion Theatre, Glad Rag are again working with the London Management on their latest venture, the costumes for ‘Big the Musical’.The show stars Jay McGuinness (Strictly 2015 winner), Gary Wilmot, Denise Van Outen, Diana Vickers and Irwin Sparkes (The Hoosiers). It opens at The Theatre Royal in Plymouth on 5 November before transferring to Ireland for a short run. Final details of the West End venue for Big the Musical in 2017 are still being finalised.

Summer Spectacular is set in the Sunny Hills Holiday Park and the holiday season is about to begin. However the Park, which is reminiscent of Hi Di Hi, is in danger of closing but the staff are determined to save it and keep its much loved holiday traditions alive. The Yellow Coats are planning to perform a whole week of entertainment in just one night! This fabulous team of sensational singers and dazzling dancers will whisk their audience away for an evening of high energy dance routines, comedy sketches and holiday romances.

The music blends current favourites with 60s nostalgia, big band ballads and lavish showstoppers, all performed by theatre professionals and the cutest babes in town. Amongst the big showstoppers will be ‘It’s Raining Men,’ ‘Earth Wind and Fire medley,’ ‘Sunday Clothes’ from Hello Dolly,’ Viva Las Vegas’ and ‘Dirty Laundry’ from Witches of Eastwick.

Glad Rags are very pleased to introduce two new cast members to the Company for Summer Spectacular. Jeff Crossland and Emily Thomas are both ex-West End performers who will add their own glamour and glitz to this new production.
