A SUSPECTED burglar has been arrested after a helicopter manhunt this morning.
The man from Southampton was detained after police and a helicopter crew were called to reports of a break-in.
It is understood that he was scared off by a member of the public and fled the scene.
A police spokesman said: “We were called at 5.03am this morning to reports of an attempted break-in to a property along Cranborne Road, Bournemouth.
“It is alleged the intruder was challenged by a member of the public and made off.
“With support from NPAS one man was located and arrested on suspicion of attempted burglary and is currently assisting police with their enquiries.”
A 38-year-old man from Southampton is currently in custody.
