I AM disgusted to learn about our local country park being taken over by travellers.

Not only are they dumping copious amounts of litter and waste in our lovely park they are intimidating members of the public who use this park on a daily basis to walk their dogs, let the children play or just stroll through the country side.

Unfortunately I was told of a terrible incident whereby the travellers decided to ride quad bikes towards people and their dogs attempting to run them over. They had to climb fences and through hedges to access the deer trails in order to escape these vile human beings. They had no phone signal to be able to call for police assistance and it took them two hours to get back out.

They were then chased by a blue transit van who also tried to run them over and others that had just entered the car park.

Most of us locals that are aware that these idiots are present are avoiding the park and having to make alternative arrangements.

What has the council done about this?

What are the police doing?

Surely the authorities should be warning people not to go to Itchen Valley.

You would have thought so seen as it’s now the school holidays!

May I add that I am disgusted that these non paying tax avoiders have absolutely no rights whatsoever to be there let alone behave in such a way.

I’m just glad it wasn’t me as I’d have retaliated.
