Auditions for Britain’s Got Talent came to Hampshire last night.

Wannabe TV stars took to the stage to battle for a place on the hit ITV show which sees Simon Cowell, Alesha Dixon, Amanda Holden and David Walliams, judge contestants.

Last night the team behind the show that put Susan Boyle and Diversity on the road to international stardom held live auditions at the Railway Inn, in Winchester, for people aged 18 or over.

They only spent one evening in the city as part of a nationwide hunt for acts good enough to take part in the new series.

Last week the team were in the Saints pub and WestQuay shopping centre in Southampton.

Amelia Brown, the show’s executive producer, said: “We’ve had some amazing winners over the years.

"They range from this year’s champion – the first magician to win the show – right through to Paul Potts, Diversity and Collabro.

“We’re looking for all kinds of talents. If you’ve got something special to show us make sure you apply – you never know where it might take you.”

Aspiring acts can also apply by going online and visiting itv.com/talent and register for one of the audition days later in the year.

They can also send in a video of their act.
