PARENTS in a Hampshire community are urged to make sure their children don’t trespass onto private land after neighbours complained they were “causing a nuisance”.

Officers from Hampshire police have received reports of children getting into a wooded area behind Hook Close in Romsey.

PCSO Jay Martin from Romsey Police Station, said: “Please can we remind all residents/youths that the Woodland area behind Hook Close is protected, private land and therefore unless you have permission from the owners you are not allowed on it.

“Anti-social behaviour is not acceptable as it causes distress to local residents affecting their everyday life.
“Patrols have been stepped up and anyone found in the woods who should not be there will have their details taken and if under 18 letters will be sent home.”

Anyone suffering from anti-social behaviour is urged to call Hampshire police on 101 and avoid confrontation.
