POLICE are appealing for information after 14 pigs were stolen from a Hampshire farm.

The Landrace Duroc cross pigs were taken from South Allenford Farm in Fordingbridge at some point between 5.30pm on Monday, August 15, and 6am on Tuesday, August 16.

Each animal weighed between 25 and 30 kilograms and they are all tattooed with HB0789 on their shoulders.

The pen they were stolen from is near an access road running from Damerham Road to Tidpit Road.

PC Rob Morant from the New Forest West Neighbourhood Policing team said: “These pigs are likely to be kept and fed up for a number of months as they are not currently at the required size to be sent to an abattoir.

“I would like to hear from anyone who knows the whereabouts of the livestock, or who witnessed pigs being transported in the area.”

Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
