A TEENAGE girl and her dog had to be rescued by firefighters when she became stuck in sinking mud in Hampshire woods.
The 16-year-old was walking the pet in Coldeast Woods in Sarisbury Green when she became stranded at 12.47pm.
Crews of 24 firefighters from Hightown, Fareham and Cosham fire stations arrived with specialist equipment tailored for mud rescues and spent nearly an hour freeing the girl from the woods close to Columbus Drive.
She was checked over to paramedics from South Central Ambulance Service (SCAS), but was found to be uninjured did not need any medical treatment.
The dog was unharmed in the incident.
