POLICE were called to a concern for welfare incident after a woman was spotted near a cliff.
Hampshire Constabulary were called early this morning after reports that a woman was seen near Culver Cliffs.
Officers arrived at the scene around 8.46am today at Culver Down in Sandown.
Specialist officers have been deployed and remain on the scene with the woman on the Isle of Wight.
A police spokeswoman said: “We would like to reassure residents and visitors that there is no wider risk to the public.
“Please patient while we deal with this incident.”
The scene had to be cordoned off while police handled the incident.
Now they have confirmed that the incident is over.
A spokeswoman added: "We can confirm this incident has now been resolved safely.
"We would like to thank the public for their patience while we dealt with this incident."
