Rail passengers are facing disruption due to a fire near London Waterloo.

Train services running to and from this station may be cancelled, delayed by up to 45 mins or revised.

Disruption is expected until 9pm tonight.

All lines were blocked while the fire service dealt with the blaze but have now been reopened.

South West Trains said: "A fire on a property near the railway at London Waterloo meant that all lines into and out of the station were blocked, which has caused disruption on all routes into and out of the station.

"The fire brigade have now advised us that we can reopen the lines, trains are now running into and out of the station."

South West Trains ticket holders may use the following services on any reasonable route: Southern Railway, London to Portsmouth / Southampton and London to Redhill.

They added: "We are working to return services to normal as quickly as possible, however because of the large number of trains and traincrew displaced by this problem, this may take some time.

"We are sorry for the disruption this has caused to your journey today.”
