POLICE are investigating after £1,000 was stolen from a shop safe during a burglary.
A window was smashed at Topps Tiles in Millbrook, Southampton, before two iron bars were removed from the frame and inside the theft was carried out.
The incident happened at the shop on Third Avenue between 6pm on August 30 and 6.50am on August 31.
Police staff investigator Katherine Pullen said: “Some force was used to get into this business so it is likely that the noise may have caused a disturbance or attracted some attention.
“Were you in the area at the time? Did you notice anyone hanging around, acting suspiciously?
“If so we would like to speak to you as your information could assist our investigation.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact PSI Pullen on 101, quoting 44160327086, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
