A SOUTHAMPTON school was put on lockdown this afternoon after trespassers were spotted on the site.
Police were called to Bitterne Park School and Sixth Form, which praised the behaviour of its pupils during the incident.
A statement on the school's website says: "The school had to call an emergency lock down at the end of lunchtime today, due to trespassers on the school site.
"The police were called and have dealt with the situation.
"All students are safe and back in lessons.
"Our students’ behaviour throughout the lockdown was impeccable and procedures were followed as practiced.
"Students will be briefed in tutor on Tuesday morning with further information."
