AN elderly motorcyclist is fighting for his life in hospital after a three-vehicle crash that closed a busy Hampshire road for five hours.

The 73-year-old from Portmore, near Lymington, was taken to Southampton General Hospital, where his condition is described as "critical but stable".

The accident happened on the A337 road between Lymington and Everton at 4.45pm yesterday.

Police say the motorcycle was in collision with a Volkswagen Golf and a Volkswagen Polo.
