POLICE are appealing for information after a woman was robbed.
The victim was walking down Nelson Street in Ryde on the Isle of Wight when a man grabbed the strap of her bag from behind and pulled it.
The 53-year-old woman fell backwards and the man ran away with the bag and its contents.
He is described as wearing dark clothing, a dark baseball can and a red bandana which covered the lower half of his face.
A 19-year-old man and a 34-year-old manfrom Ryde were arrested after the incident, which happened at about 8.10pm on Saturday.
Detective Constable Angela Gore said: “We are appealing for any witnesses who may have been in the area of Nelson Street in Ryde at the time of this incident.
“Additionally, if anyone saw a man fitting the description walking up the upper end of Nelson Street with or without a handbag, please contact police.”
