All over the county people are going tea and coffee cup crazy for the ‘world’s biggest coffee morning’.
Hampshire’s offices, leisure centres, hair dressers, and schools are all on a coffee drinking mission for charity.
It was the Macmillan Cancer Support’s ‘World’s Biggest Coffee Morning’ and hundreds of thousands were raised to help this good cause. The Macmillan website kept a track of donations and by midday the figure was already well above £700,000.
Macmillan Coffee mornings occurred at all sorts of venues across the city including; The Grand Café, The Mercure Dolphin Hotel, which had singers there too,  Bitterne Conservative Club, M&S Café at West Quay, All Southampton’s Nationwide banks, Pitman Training in Eastgate Street and Headhunters Hair Salon in Sholing.
Elsewhere in the county there was charitable coffee cup raising at Heppenstalls Solicitors in Lymington, Orchard Gardens Care Home in Bishopstoke, First Eastleigh Scout Group, Jasper Vincent Solicitors in Fareham and Everton Nurseries near Milford-on-Sea.
Even the Daily Echo advertising team held their own fund raising coffee morning - raising £205.81 for the charity.
