A VAN driver who was killed in a crash with a lorry has been named by police.

Duncan Appleby, 38, of Coronado Road, Gosport, was seriously injured in the collision, which happened at the junction between the A30 and A33 in Basingstoke at about 4.10pm on Thursday.

He was rushed to Southampton General Hospital after the crash but died the following day.

His passenger, a 30-year-old man from Gosport, is still in hospital suffering from serious injuries, and three people in the lorry were treated for minor injuries at the scene.

A Hampshire Police spokeswoman said: "Investigations into the incident are ongoing and anyone who saw the collision or either vehicle prior to it are urged to come forward.
