A MAN is in hospital after being stabbed during a daylight robbery in a Southampton street.
A 42-year-old man was on Northam Road near the Prince of Wales pub and was approached by another man, who became aggressive and demanded money.
The 42-year-old resisted but suffered a stab wound to his buttocks and was taken to hospital.
The incident happened at about 11am on Saturday, October 1, but police have only released details of the attack today.
Officers are now appealing for witnesses and say the attacker is white, about 40 years old, six feet and one inch tall, and of a skinny build.
He had short mousey-coloured receding hair, a skinny face, and was wearing a dark blue and grey tracksuit and white trainers with blue stripes.
Detective Constable Paddy Coughlin from the Western Investigation Team said: "This was violent attack that happened in broad daylight on a busy Saturday morning.
"We believe this is an isolated incident and that there is no wider risk to the public, however we are keen to trace the man described.
"I am certain people would have witnessed this incident.
