Police are hunting thief who raided two busiensses in Southampton city centre - stealing a puppy.

CCTV picturesof a man tghey want to speak to have been released by polcie today.

It follows two burglaries at Tapas Barcelona in Guildhall Square and Smoke and Mirrors on Vernon Walk.

The raids took place between 2.25am and 3.15am on October 11.

Alcohol, electronics, cash and a Labrador puppy were stolen from Smoke and Mirrors.

The puppy was later found and returned to the owner.

A window at Tapas Barcelona was smashed and entry was gained but nothing was stolen.

Both establishments were targeted within a 45 minute period.

Officers were deployed and carried out a search of the area.

We are now appealing for information to identify the man in these images.

He is described as:

• White

• Late teens or early 20s

• 6 feet tall

• Clean shaven

• Slim build

• Black North Face Puffa jacket

• Blue jeans with label on the right front pocket & a strip on the left back pocket

• Dark beanie hat

• Dark coloured sporty trainers

• Gloves with writing on the cuff

PC Sharath Ranjan from the Western Investigations Team said: “Do you recognise this man or did you see anyone acting suspiciously in the area around this time?

“There were lots of late night party-goers in the area. Do you recognise the bike or see this man loitering between Guildhall Walk and London Road or Vernon Walk? Please give us a call.”
