A HAMPSHIRE watering hole has had its grand reopening, following a six-figure investment.

General manager, Katie Smith, pulled the first pint at The Testwood on Salisbury Road in Totton following an extensive transformation.

The pub serves food from 11am to 9pm seven days a week, and is owned by Greene King, which operates over 3,000 pubs, restaurants and hotels across the UK.

As part of the investment, the pub has received a complete makeover, introducing a lighter colour scheme with white tiled walls, signature pieces of furniture and fresh, contemporary flooring.

The bar area has been completely revamped, with the introduction of an extended selection of local and national ales, and world beers.

This child-friendly pub also boasts a large beer garden with a covered and heated alfresco dining area.

The food offering has been enhanced to help bring punters through the door, with the pub unveiling a mouth-watering new menu that features dishes such as a Jerk Chicken Burger, Winter Fruits Cheesecake, as well as a host of pub classics for the whole family to enjoy.

The Testwood has also launched its Christmas menus in the run up to the festive season, including Festive Fayre, Buffet, and its Christmas Day menu.

General manager Katie Smith, said: “We’re incredibly excited to have undergone such a huge transformation.

"The Testwood is a great destination for locals and visitors, so we’re pleased to be able to offer even better surroundings and a great new menu to both our loyal and new guests alike.”

Popular events at the pub include Poker on a Sunday evening and a disco themed evening on the last Friday of every month.

Locals also like to join Disco Steve for Rock and Roll Bingo on Wednesday evenings to hear favourites from the past and present and win prizes for lines and full houses.
