A SOUTHAMPTON city landmark turned red for World AIDS Day.
There are more than 100,000 people are currently living with HIV in the UK and it is estimated that globally 34 million people who have the virus.
World AIDS DAY aims to increase awareness and fight prejudice as well as informing and educating society.
Southampton City Council and its provider of sexual health services, Solent NHS Trust, has turned the clock tower in the city centre red and is calling on residents to join the campaign by using #worldaidsday and #hivnotretro on social media.
Solent NHS Trust offers a free and confidential STI test kit online which includes a test for HIV.
All samples are self-taken and results are provided within 5 working days of posting the samples back.
