WINCHESTER’S park and ride has come under fire.
At a town forum meeting in Winchester it was heard that the park and ride buses are often full which mean some passengers do not get picked up.
In a presentation to Winchester Town Forum, Councillor Eleanor Bell said: “It has been bought to my attention by a number of users and complaints to Stagecoach that when park and ride buses are full when they reach Pitt Park and Ride and they do not pick up as they go as a result of that.”
Cllr Bell said she also noticed that there is a notice stating the buses have “capacity” issues when this happens.
Corporate director at Winchester City Council, Steve Tilbury, said the issue can be solved by the council paying for more buses to cope with the increased capacity.
