HAMPSHIRE students put on a show-stopping performance of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.

Students of Hook-with-Warsash Church of England Academy filled theatre seats for three nights at Ferneham Hall, on Osborn Road, when they performed their school production of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s musical, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolored Dreamcoat.

More than 300 pupils from the school took part in the production from November 22-24.

Students in their final year were cast in the lead roles with children from lower years supporting them in the choir. Children in Year 1 and 2 also participated by doing some Egyptian-style moves.

The children were accompanied by the school band, which consisted of teachers, governors and former students.

The lead, Joseph, was played by Year 6 pupil Daniel Mills who learnt all the songs off by heart and was absolutely word perfect all three nights.

Head teacher Sara Willoughby said: "The children sang their hearts out and their energy was inspiring. The show really is a true example of team work as members of staff and children throughout the school work together to make it such a success.

"I would like to thank everyone: parents, children and staff for their support; not many children get the opportunity to perform on a real stage like this and it is the hard work and dedication of all the staff and children that makes such a wonderful opportunity happen."
