Hampshire theme park icon and cartoon character Peppa Pig has been trending on Twitter today, leading some to fear this was news the latest celebrity death in 2016.

However, Peppa Pig, who draws huge crowds of visitors to Peppa Pig World at Paulton’s Park, is still alive and well in the popular children’s show.
The reason for the trend was, in fact, reports that religious leaders are pushing for Muslim alternative to the show.
It has been reported that the Australian National Imams Council has backed a campaign to produce an alternative to Peppa Pig set in a "predominantly Muslim town".
