FIREFIGHTERS were called after a car caught fire in Hampshire this morning.
Hightown firefighters were called to the incident, involving a Vauxhall Astra, parked off Lionheart Way, Bursledon, at about 12.30am today.
It is believed the fire, which was put out using one hose reel, was caused after the owner left their phone charger plugged in. The damage was confined to the driver and passenger seats in the car.
A Hampshire Fire and Rescue spokesman said: "We would like to remind people to not leave their phone chargers plugged into their cars, it is unusual but it can happen if the charger develops a fault."
