A HAMPSHIRE railway station car park is the second most expensive in the country.
Southampton Airport Parkway is charging £15 per day and according to complaint service Resolver, that figure is only topped by Reading.
In a survey across 100 commuter towns and cities across the country, Southampton’s car park was found to be the second highest ahead of Guildford (£14.50), Brighton (£13.10) and Ebbsfleet (£12.60) for a daily service.
The figures also indicate that rail fares in Britain increased by an average 2.3 per cent on January 2.
Founder of Resolver James Walker said: “With price increases on the horizon on everything from household goods to mortgage repayments, the people I speak to are really concerned about making ends meet during 2017.
“Though train and parking companies can’t be forced to reduce their prices, you can still recoup some of your losses by remembering your rights and claiming for refunds if you’re delayed or making a complaint if you face an unfair parking charge.”
