A LORRY which belongs to a Hampshire firm has been pictured smashing into parked cars on a narrow residential road.

It caused thousands of pounds worth of damage to vehicles parked on both sides of the street.

The lorry belongs to Hampshire Insulation, a firm based in Thompson’s Lane, close to Marwell Zoo near Winchester.

The incident happened Ruislip, West London and was captured by Hollie Anne Cooper, who posted the pictures on Facebook.

Hollie who was parked nearby said the driver got half way down the road before he started to reverse and hitting the cars once more.

Her post quickly went viral and has been shared more than 13,000 times.

She said that the lorry had struck around 15 cars. 

Hollie is reported to have said: “I couldn’t believe it when I saw what was happening.”

“I couldn’t believe he was still driving down the road. It was shocking.

“I knew he wouldn’t be able to fit down the road so I watched him as I was worried about my car.

“Suddenly he was hitting cars, alarms were going off and he knocked a wing mirror off.

“He dragged the Fiat 500 down the road. It was carnage. All the cars were completely smashed up. It was terrible.”

Hampshire Insulations have apologised to anyone whose car was damaged in the incident.  

A statement from Hampshire Insulations said: "Upon notification of an incident involving ours and multiple other vehicles on Monday, January 16, 2017, we made contact with the Metropolitan Police to register the incident.

"The driver of the vehicle has provided a written statement to the Metropolitan Police within 24hrs as required."

"Our insurance company will be dealing with the claims relating to this incident.

"May we take this opportunity to offer our sincere apologies to those who have suffered damage to their vehicles or who have been inconvenienced by this incident."
