Police have launched an appeal after two men were spotted leaving a Hampshire home after burgling it.

The pair broke into the house, in Mortimer Lane, Fair Oak, at about 2.35pm on Monday before stealing a small amount of cash.

A 39-year-old man from Portsmouth has been arrested in connection with the burglary. He has been bailed until April 7.

Police are now hunting the second man who was white, aged approximately between his mid to late 20s, of a slim build, around 5ft 8ins tall with dark, short hair and was possibly wearing a black cap.

PC Matt Blake said: "We would like to speak to anyone who may have seen anyone acting suspiciously in the area at the time or may have seen the incident."
