IT is one of the most popular fund raisers of the year.

Now Naomi House & Jacksplace hospices have announced details of the 11th Clarendon Way Walk.

The 26-mile walk will take place on Sunday June 4, with walkers making their way from Salisbury Cathedral to Winchester

A 14-mile route is also available from the village of Broughton.

More than 9,000 people have taken on the challenge of walking between the two Cathedral cities over the years, and organisers hope that many of them will return for the 2017 event in support of local life-limited and life-threatened children and young adults.

Charlotte Patrick, events fundraiser at Naomi House & Jacksplace, said: “The Clarendon Way Walk grows in popularity each year and we are hopeful that this year’s event will raise enough money to fund more than 7,000 hours of high quality nursing care so desperately needed by local children, young people and their families.

“It’s a challenging but enjoyable event, and a great way to get fit and explore some of Hampshire and Wiltshire’s most beautiful countryside.”

More than 1,400 people took on the Clarendon Way Walk last year, raising an impressive £200,000 between them for the hospices.

Naomi House & Jacksplace currently care for more than 350 children and young adults with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions. The charity offers the only comprehensive and 24 hour hospice service locally.

Discounted entry is available for a limited time only. Places cost £15 for an adult and £10 for a child until 1st February. Participants will be given a limited edition T-shirt and medal upon completion of the trek.
