POLICE are appealing for witnesses to a robbery in which a teenager's mobile phone was stolen.
The incident happened at round 10.40pm on Tuesday when two 17-year-old boys were walking down Southampton High Street, near to Costa coffee.
The boys were approached from behind by three men, who made attempts to search the boys’ pockets and stole an iPhone 6 and a “Sardine” Bluetooth speaker before heading off down East Street.
One of the men was described as mixed race, aged in his late teens or early 20s, around 5ft 10ins to 6ft tall, stocky, with short, dark cornrows-style hair and a stud earring. He was wearing a blue and black “North Face” winter jacket.
The second man was described as mixed race, aged in his early 20s, around 6ft 2ins to 6ft 4ins tall, with hair shaved fairly short at the sides but longer on the top. He was wearing a dark-coloured jacket.
The third man was described as black, aged around 18 years, approximately 6ft tall, and wore a dark-coloured coat with the hood up.
Officers would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident, or who can help identify the three men.
Detective Constable Laura Hardy, of Western CID, said: “"We believe that other members of the public were nearby when this incident took place who may have seen something.
“The victim was playing music loudly before this incident, which may have attracted your attention if you were walking past."
