Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was assaulted in a Hampshire town on Friday night.
The 32-year-old was walking alone along Lower Brook Street in Basingstoke at 11.10pm when he was approached by a man who punched and kicked him.
His attacker then stole his wallet before leaving the scene.
The victim suffered facial and shoulder injuries and was taken to Basingstoke Hospital for treatment.
The suspect is described as being tall and of a thin build. He was wearing tight blue jeans, a black jacket with a grey thick hood coming out of the back of the jacket and a red beanie hat.
Officers investigating the assault would like to speak to anyone who may have seen a man matching this description in the area that night or who heard or saw anything suspicious.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Constable Kayleigh Rush on 101, quoting 44170063107, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
