Police have released a man who was arrested on suspicion of murder after a woman fell from a window of a Hampshire flat.

Officers were investigating after a woman fell from the third-floor window of the flat, Clarendon House, in Clarendon Road, Southsea, but the incident is no longer being treated as suspicious.

The 40-year-old woman was rushed to Southampton General Hospital by ambulance but died from her injuries.

The 46-year-old Southsea man was released and no further action will be taken, say officers.

A police statement said: "We are preparing a file for the coroner."
