The family of a Hampshire man who was shot last week have issued a fresh appeal for information.

34-year-old Jamie Sibley was seriously injured in the attempted murder, which happened at around 12.50am on February 13, in Athena Avenue, Crookhorn.

He was taken to Southampton General Hospital with a serious head injury.

Detectives are still trying to locate the weapon used which remains a high priority for the investigation.

A week on, Jamie Sibley’s family has released the following statement to urge anyone with information to come forward: “Jamie is a very much loved member of our family, he has had his problems which many people have but really he’s such an easy-going person.

“We as a family appreciate all the well wishes and comments, but would also like respect for our privacy while we continue to deal with Jamie’s condition and wellbeing.

“All we can push across is that if anybody has any information that could help this investigation no matter how small or irrelevant you think it is, please inform the police. We need to get justice for Jamie.”
