A WOMAN has been arrested after an elderly woman was tied to a chair by masked burglars in a raid on her home in Christchurch.
Aged in her 80s, the victim was restrained with cable ties as the thieves - a man and a woman with scarves covering their faces - ransacked her property in Oak Avenue.
The incident happened at around 9.30pm on Wednesday, February 1, when the victim heard a knock at her front door.
She opened the door and the offenders forced themselves into her home.
The pair stole cash and jewellery from the address before leaving.
The victim managed to free herself from the ties and contact police. She suffered some bruising during the ordeal.
A 32-year-old Bournemouth woman was arrested on Saturday, February 18, on suspicion of robbery and is currently on police bail until the beginning of May 2017 pending further enquiries.
Enquiries are ongoing in relation to the second suspect.
