Two buses have been shot at with a pellet gun.

The X4 First Southampton bus, which run between Southampton and Portsmouth, were attacked in Locks Heath, Fareham.

One incident occurred on Church Road, and the other near the crossroads of Hunts Road and Lower Church Road at around 3.30pm yesterday.

One passenger tweeted: "It was very scary! Never going on a bus again. Happy to be home!"

In both incidents the rear window of the bus was smashed.

There have been no reports of any injuries.

An eyewitness on the second bus, who did not wish to be named, said: "People were taken off the first bus and moved to ours.

"Everyone was shocked - it was a horrible thing. There were children and babies, as well as a man in a wheelchair on our bus."

A First Southampton spokesman said: "The safety of our staff and passengers is an absolute priority.

"Our buses carry grandparents, parents, brothers and sisters, young children and babies in buggies. Smashing windows could cause serious harm to them and is really dangerous.

"We have reported these mindless acts of aggression and vandalism to the police.”
