A 28-HOUR live radio broadcast will be put on by three presenters – and a puppy.

The special show will be aired on Southampton community radio station Voice FM this week to raise money to build disabled-access studios.

Presenters Chris Huskins, Jay Radcliffe and Ana Roitenberg will be joined by studio puppy Lexie for the show - which kick-starts 28 days’ worth of crowdfunding.

Money raised will go towards building the new studios with complete disabled access, allowing everybody the chance to create radio and become part of the station's group of volunteers.

Chris said: “We will kick off the live 28-hour broadcast, with fantastic entertainment, great music, no breaks and no sleep for us. It doesn’t sound like much, but to be on air, happy, talking and with no breaks or sleep is incredibly hard.

"We wanted to challenge ourselves to help raise money so that we can continue our great community work. Any amount that anyone can donate would go a long way.”

The show is part of work carried out in the last year between Voice FM and charities Enham Trust and Ability Radio, which has provided the opportunity for disabled people to create original, innovative radio for the community.

The 28-hour broadcast will get underway at 7am on March 1 - visit www.voice28.co.uk to donate.
