Police are appealing for information after woman was sexually assaulted.

The 18-year-old woman was walking along River Way, in Andover, between midnight and 1am on Saturday, March 18 when she noticed she was being followed by a man she did not know.

The man then approached her and spoke to he, before he tried to kiss her and pushed her to the ground.

An unknown woman came to the aid of the victim and the man ran off. The woman walked the victim back to her home.

The man is described as white, aged 19-20 years old, 5ft 8/9in tall and of skinny build. He had short brown hair that was scruffy on top, stubble, a northern accent and was wearing blue/black skinny jeans, black trainers and a grey jumper with a red motif on the front.

Detective Constable Matt Dennis, of Aldershot CID, said: “This is a rare occurrence and we are keen to speak to anyone who has any information about what happened.

“Did you see anything suspicious? Did you see a man matching the above description?

“We would also like to identify and speak to the woman who came to the aid of the victim. She might hold information that could assist our investigation.”
