A TOTTON man has been banned from the roads after he was caught driving more than four times the legal drink driving limit.

Lloyd Edward Ditchfield, of Boniface Close, was found guilty of drink driving when he appeared at Southampton Magistrates’ Court.

The court heard the 46-year-old was caught driving a Mercedes C220 on Farm Close in Calmore on December 8 last year.

Tests revealed Ditchfield had 155 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath – more than four times the legal limit of 35 microgrammes.

Ditchfield was banned from driving for three years and given a community order with 30 days of rehabilitation work.

He was also fined £1,500, ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £85 and £620 costs.
